Ben Song is the founder and visionary leader of SquareAlpha, responsible for shaping and executing the company’s long-term strategy with a focus on growth, innovation, and operational excellence. He emphasises a respectful, collaborative team culture and firmly believes that people perform their best work in an environment built on trust.

Ben oversees SquareAlpha’s operations and provides expert insights to clients. He also regularly takes time to work on the front lines to stay connected with the team, industry trends, and client needs. Whether delivering extensive strategic planning or executing major works, he takes an active role in client visits across Australia and has successfully led projects in Asia and Africa.

With nearly three decades of experience, Ben has navigated the ever-evolving technology landscape. His career began with the creation of a globally recognized technology news platform. In the late 1990s, he pioneered FusionAudio, one of the first online live broadcast networks, and through his software venture, r2 Studios, developed award-winning Windows applications featured in international media, including G4’s TechTV.

Before founding SquareAlpha, Ben held leadership positions at leading IT service providers, managing national operations teams and delivering innovative solutions to large corporations, small businesses, government entities, and nonprofits globally. His expertise spans client relationship management, technological innovation, and building high-performance teams.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Management and Information Systems, and numerous professional certifications, including ITIL, Microsoft, VMware, and Apple. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. Ben is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Computer Society, and ISACA.

A passionate advocate for early-stage technology startups, Ben is often invited to speak on leadership, technology, and innovation. His hands-on approach and industry expertise make him a sought-after thought leader in the tech community.
